Australia’s Future Submarine Program is the largest Defence capital investment program in Australia’s history. At a reported cost in the order of $80 billion, it has been labelled as a ‘megaproject’ by all international standards and the most challenging acquisition program it has undertaken, the success of which will be driven by preparations during the design phase.
The Future Submarine Program will deliver 12 regionally-superior submarines to the Royal Australian Navy with the first likely to enter service in the early 2030’s.
Some of our efforts include:
- Lead the infrastructure elements of the Future Submarine Program, coordinating key Defence and Industry stakeholders and driving the design and contract methodology to develop the facilities and infrastructure required the Future Submarine Capability
- Developed preliminary infrastructure requirements for both production and through-life support for the Future Submarine capability
- Developed an Interface Coordination Program to align stakeholder inputs whilst maintaining alignment with Government objectives.
