About

Our Story

At Yanun, we pride ourselves on having a unique blend of Indigenous heritage and project management expertise. Co-founded by David Mallett, a proud Aboriginal man in the Ngarrindjeri mob, and Jessica MacDonald, a construction industry diversity and inclusion ally, Yanun’s mission is to leverage the power of people and projects to transform lives.

Initially as a Clearance Diver then Special Forces Sniper, David’s military background led Yanun to initially support projects in the defence sector. In just four years, the company has evolved into a team of talented professionals, supporting projects across Defence, Transport & Utilities, Energy & Resources, Social Infrastructure, and First Nations Collaboration and Advisory. With a national reach through projects in the NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, and NT we are proudly contributing to the delivery of over $18B worth of infrastructure.

Jessica and David believe in the power of meaningful work and are passionate about creating opportunities for others to live good lives. “Whether it’s through successful project outcomes, sustainable partnerships, or community impact, Yanun is here to help you make a lasting difference” says David Mallett.

Yanun means to communicate with others, to talk, speak and share.

The origin of the word “Yanun” is traced to the Ngarrindjeri people of the South East, South Australia.
